Well it looks like the mighty Virus that has plagued the globe is back with a vengeance. Vancouver Canada has just declared it mandatory for all students to start wearing a mask. Fall has just begun and the Flu season is still ahead of us so how bad things get only time will tell. With many people around the country young and old refusing to get a vaccination shot hospitals just might get overun.
Across the country thousands are hitting the streets expressing the desire to have their freedom of choice. While every Canadian desires the right to live free make their own choices in life this virus is not going to be an easy victory if every one living in North and South America doesn’t conform. Unfortunately this does not look like it is going to happen. In meantime we are not only going to have the Covid virus to deal with this winter the Flu is also a mighty killer.
A double whammy that is going to over overflow the hospital system causing complete and utter havoc across the country. After witnessing massive demonstrations of the anti shot folks it is highly unlikely this crowd will be going in for their shots any time soon. Too bad because they are the ones that will get the worst of this killer.
Kids are paying the price
In the meantime it looks like the future fashions are going to be who wears the coolest masks. Kids can adapt quite easily to situations with relative ease but wearing a mask all day is not easy. As kids run and jump and play the masks will fall off and the virus will keep spreading. Ever walk by a high school and see the kids kissing? Well they do and these ones are not conforming to the rules. Did you conform to the rules when you were a kid. Highly unlikely and this generation won’t either.
Meanwhile it is a losing battle and the kids are paying the price. Although it might be good for the ones with acne and bad teeth. Hiding your facial woes is crucial when your a teenager for sure. Maybe masks will worn in a wild game of rugby or soccer. Great for breathing don’t you think. Kids should not be paying the price for the rest of the countries unwillingness to get a shot.
Do Masks Work
Studies at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention published a notable, yet mostly ignored, report in American schools. A few major news outlets covered its release by briefly reiterating the study’s summary.
Masking then-unvaccinated teachers and improving ventilation with more fresh air were associated with a lower incidence of the virus in schools. Those are common-sense measures, and the fact that they seem to work is reassuring but not surprising.
But other findings of equal importance in the study, however, were absent from the summary and not widely reported. These findings cast doubt on the impact of many of the most common mitigation measures in American schools. Distancing, hybrid models, classroom barriers, HEPA filters, and, most notably, requiring student masking were each found to not have a statistically significant benefit. In other words, these measures could not be said to be effective.
